Explore our state-of-the-art machinery lineup, designed to integrate seamlessly into fully automated sorting and tempering setups.
Modern glass manufacturing operations face intense macroeconomic and operational pressures. The demand for architectural structural glass, smart high-durability automotive mirrors, and high-transmission photovoltaic panels is growing at double-digit compound rates. Concurrently, labor shortages, rising material costs, and strict dimensional tolerances mean glass processors can no longer tolerate high breakage percentages or inefficient manual queuing systems.
Traditional flat glass processing centers suffer major bottlenecks immediately after the cutting, breaking, and grinding operations. Unprocessed sheets frequently accumulate at buffer stations, creating severe staging delays. A custom automatic glass sorting line solves this systemic challenge by continuously identifying, storing, optimizing, and routing glass panes according to their downstream production requirements. By utilizing smart data tracking and dynamic buffering, sorting lines reduce human touchpoints, lower scrap rates to near zero, and significantly maximize the throughput capacity of expensive machinery like tempering furnaces and insulating glass line units.
Our sorting machinery features adaptive scheduling algorithms that sort glass panes based on thickness, coating orientation, and furnace load configuration. Instead of simple "first-in, first-out" processing, the system reorganizes the inventory queue in real-time, optimizing the raw furnace packing density and lowering electrical consumption per metric ton of processed glass by up to 18%.

A fully integrated automatic glass sorting line acts as the central brain and routing grid of the factory. It operates through three main phases: identification, sorting/storing, and retrieval.
Before a glass pane enters the sorting line, it is tracked via either a laser-etched matrix code, a printed barcode sticker, or an RF tag scanned by high-speed overhead optical cameras. In advanced glass factories, this code contains data from the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) outlining the glass type, raw dimensions, and its targeted downstream destination (e.g., tempering furnace #2 or the laminating station). Our system syncs in less than 5 milliseconds, preparing the sorting conveyor switches for incoming sheets.
Depending on the factory floor space, we custom-build either a static multirack system or a continuous shuttle-driven line. The shuttle systems operate on multi-tiered vertical steel frames, lifting and sliding individual glass panes onto designated slot levels using high-load suction lifters or customized air-cushion platforms. By storing panes vertically, we save up to 70% of floor space compared to flat conveyors.
When the downstream cutting center, washing machine, or tempering furnace is ready to receive material, the central controller commands the sorting shuttle to retrieve the exact panel thickness required. Through precise servo positioning, the pane is extracted and transferred onto the main delivery conveyor with speed, safety, and no risk of surface friction.
Our 2025 and 2026 sorting lines include integrated cloud modules that log suction pressure, vacuum cycle times, motor temperatures, and conveyor belt tension. This allows managers to perform predictive maintenance, minimizing mechanical downtime by scheduling minor component replacements before failures occur.
Expanding globally requires more than delivering high-quality steel structures; it requires strict adherence to international electrical, safety, and operational standards. All machinery built by Nanjing Honghe conforms to the highest standards, making integration easy for factories worldwide:
To support global partners, Nanjing Honghe has developed a network of localized technician support teams. We provide remote system integration, software debugging via secure VPNs, and stock key mechanical spares (vacuum pads, timing belts, and solenoids) in localized depots in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia to minimize operational downtime.

The system layout is customized to the plant. A standard vertical shuttle system storing up to 60 slots for glass sheets measuring 2500 x 3500 mm requires a footprint of approximately 12 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width. Static harp rack layouts can be scaled down to fit smaller industrial corridors.
The line is designed with material safety in mind. Our conveyor rollers use specialized high-density polyurethane components, and our pick-and-place suction heads grip only the uncoated side of the glass. When necessary, the system executes 180-degree pneumatic rotations to keep the coated layer face-up.
Yes. Our PLC and control PC support OPC UA, TCP/IP, and direct SQL database connections, allowing real-time data sync with industrial software platforms like FeneTech, LiSEC, Optima, and custom in-house systems.
The system handles glass thicknesses from 3mm up to 19mm. Maximum standard sheet dimensions are 3300mm x 6000mm, with custom larger capacities available. Weight capacities range up to 750kg per slot.
